Dakar, Senegal (MAT) -Dakar International Forum on Peace and Security in Africa, the fourth edition opened on Monday at the Abdou Diouf International Conference Center in Diamniadio (CICAD), in the presence of three African heads of state. .
In addition to the Senegalese President Macky Sall, his counterparts from Rwanda Paul Kagame and Mali Ibrahima Boubacar Keita are taking part in this meeting.
Chadian Prime Minister Albert Pahimi Padacké, French Defense Minister Florence Parly, the President of the African Union Commission (AU), Moussa Faki Mahamat, among others, are also attending the forum.
The Dakar International Forum on Peace and Security in Africa brings together annually since 2014, many African heads of state and government, international partners, as well as multiple actors of peace and security.
It was launched at the 2013 Elysée summit, organized by France.
More than 500 participants, regional and international actors at the highest level, political and military authorities, experts and academics, diplomats, representatives of international organizations, civil society and the private sector are expected at the 2017 edition.
The event focuses on the “new strategic issues” of the continent and around the theme “Current security challenges in Africa: for integrated solutions”.
The Dakar International Forum on Peace and Security in Africa is organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Abroad (MAESE) with the support of many partners.
